The Red Lion WC offers both introductory and advanced strength and conditioning programs for wrestlers. Our programs all start out focusing on learning the fundamentals and then building from there. Our program was designed by Penn State University specifically for youth and highs chool wrestlers. It is extremely safe. Again, like all aspects of the Red Lion program our goal is development and growth of the individual.
RLWC offers five strength programs: Introduction to the Exercise, Development of Core Strength, Maximizing Explosion, In-Season Endurance, and Buidling Mass. Each program has a different goal and is generally designed for a specific group or part of the season.
Each program utilizes, body weight, agility, and flexibility. Again, our focus is not developing caliber wrestlers, not body builders. We focus on muscle development. Before any student can advance, they are required to show proficiency in the technique involved with each exercise. Lifts are setup with spefici goals and dates in mind. The process is very rewarding. Each member has a record of their progress and an analysis of their maximums upon completition.
Our strength programs are usually offered in groups of 4-6 wrestlers. We can place wrestlers together, but we prefer that the parents assemble the small group. It helps to keep everyone on the same page with regards to workout times and expectations. Each group is led by a coach running the program. Sessions range in length and intensity based on the program and timeline that the group is working through. Costs generally run about $25 per session. Space within these programs are limited and so we ask that interested parties commit to an enire cycle (generally 2-3 time a week for 8 weeks).
